On October 27, the Human Technopole Auditorium, located in the heart of the MIND district, hosted thepresentationof the fifth edition of the Integrated Report, which illustrates the first year of implementation ofthe 2024–2028 Strategic Plan. The document highlights the scientific impact of the Institute and its growing integration into the Italian life sciences ecosystem, showing the continuous sustainable transformation of Human Technopole during 2024.
In 2024, Human Technopole continued to strengthen its commitment to excellence in interdisciplinary research, contributing to14 of the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development goals: promoting gender equality with 54% female staff, celebrating six award-winning scientists, and launching 14 new collaborations with universities, hospitals, and research centers. This commitment was supported by €11 million in external international funding, including two prestigious ERC Grants.
The 2024 edition of HT's Integrated Report reflects the objectives of the 2024–2028 Strategic Plan and documents the results of the first year of implementation. This voluntary reporting process, launched in 2020—just one year after the Institute began its scientific activities—is based on transparency, measurable results, and accountability, and was recognized last year with the 60th Oscar di Bilancio award.
From a methodological perspective, the 2024 Report introduces for the first time a dual materiality assessment, a key element that will guide the Foundation's future actions toward objectives that integrate ESG considerations.
The impact on the national scientific community
Human Technopole's research is based on cutting-edge scientific infrastructure and platforms, key resources for ensuring competitiveness and attractiveness in the international life sciences landscape. In line with its mission to promote scientific excellence in Italy, HThas launched services dedicated to supporting the needs of the national scientific community. In this context, five National Platforms were inaugurated in June 2024: shared infrastructures designed according to an open innovation model. Their impact was immediate and significant: the number ofprojectssubmitted by Italian research institutes and approved by the Independent Permanent Evaluation Committee (CIVP) rosefrom 38 at the end of 2024 to 184 in September 2025, confirming the growing participation and relevance of the initiative.
